My name is Jon Burleigh. My daughter, Paige, drew a deer tag this year on a limited access hunt in Southeast Kansas. Although she is only 10 years old, she is an avid outdoorsman. I have taken her deer hunting with me on several occasions, but she has only been able to observe. She made it perfectly clear that this year SHE was going to shoot a deer. Needless to say we were very excited when she drew a tag. We also knew we had a lot of work cut out for us as far as preparation was concerned.

I purchased a youth model .243 with a 3x9 scope, and we began practicing at every opportunity we had. She was very proficient by the time the big weekend arrived. It has been very dry here in Kansas and the plan was to hunt water sources. Needless to say, it started raining the morning before the hunte and it didn't stop for two days.The farmers were happy, but we weren't. In an area with a very healthy buck population no one saw a buck for the first day and a half. Considering it's a two day hunt, that is catastrophic.

We knew of an area the deer were using in the evening, but it was going to be a terrible setup. The only place that we could place our blind and still have a clear shot also placed us directly up wind of their bedding area and where they were going to come out in the field. I went over our options with my daughter and we decided to hunt where we knew the deer would be and to just manage our scent as best we could.

That afternoon I went to the store and bought just about every product I think you sell. We washed EVERYTHING in Dead Down Wind. We washed our clothes, our blind, ourselves. Anything that wouldn't fit in the washer or couldn't be scrubbed down outside was soaked in 3D Evlove. Once we were all set up in the field, everything got another coating of 3D Evolve. Now I am a biologist and I know it is impossible to eliminate ALL human scent. Starting at 4:30 p.m. a steady stream of doe began to filter into the field from every possible direction. These deer are not used to people at all. All I can say is your product works. At one point, there were 12 doe and 4 young bucks directly down wind from us and none of them were catching our scent.

This went on until about 6:30 when a large buck stepped out of the timber and walked into the open field. He was headed towards the other deer that were down wind from us. He never got there. My daughter harvested an 11 point buck that grossed 149 3/8". She earned that buck with a lot of preparation and dedication. I know your product played a big role in her being presented with an opportunity to make the shot. Thank you for producing a quality product. Five years ago while working at Cabelas in Rogers, MN, a new product caught my eye. Maybe it was the shiny orange bottle? Maybe it was the catchy logo? This 144 Class (I have a picture in the Photo Gallery) didn?t even know I was around. I was only 12? in a ladder stand, he tried to find me but couldn?t. I think this is the greatest scent killer I have ever used. I have been hunting Deer for 30 years. Used all kinds of scent killers, but this is the best. I have come within 10 yards of some Deer, and they didn?t even know I was around and I was sitting on the ground! Thanks again, I will tell my friends. I love it!
